Hope you picked up something from our last post and enjoyed the recipe for wild blueberry cardamom oats!
I suppose the 2nd week of the new year was fairly uneventful. Most everyone is likely back to their regular daily hustle and out of the post holiday fog. The temps are finally back up here in Pittsburgh after some wicked lows and we can all move about a little easier with a few less layers.
As for shopping, this week we hit Trader Joe’s, ALDI’s and Wholefoods.
Trader Joe’s had all the things they were out of last week. We got-almonds, frozen cherries, 3 bags chocolate chips (we stock pile these because on rare occasions they run out and obviously they are a necessity!), whole wheat flour, 2 high protein super firm tofu, edamame and toothpaste.
From ALDI’s we got navel oranges, 2 containers of soy milk, another box of the soy protein burgers, the quinoa crunch burgers, 3 multi packs of peppers, a big head of cabbage, dill pickles, vegan mozzarella shreds, spaghetti, classic meatless meatballs, zesty Italian meatless meatballs and 2 bags of gala apples (not pictured above because I grabbed red delicious by accident and had to exchange them the next day).
From Wholefoods we got our favorite coffee and a jar of creamy peanut butter.
What to do with it all?
Well 1st you could plan it out on paper (or digitally like we do) with this handy weekly meal planner. Download one for yourself for free!
We tend to get three meals out of most of the dishes we make, but we are ok with leftovers. Some people are not and that’s ok too! It just means a little more planning. We are also pretty good at repurposing leftovers so we are not eating exactly the same meal.
Here are some of the things we made!
Keep in mind our pantry was well stocked going into the new year. We will have to talk about pantry staples in another post soon!
